Shaken, Not Stirred

Happy January! I hope you are all surving this gloomy weather and the obnoxious colds that come along with it. We have been passing the cold around (sniff, sniff, give...sniff, sniff, give), but I think we're finally coming through on the other side. Here's to hoping we (and you!) are all healthy for the upcoming 3-day weekend.

I titled this post as such not because I'm busy drinking martinis, but because I feel like this vest shakes things up a bit in regards to workwear. When I ordered it online, I wasn't sure how I would style it. If I had gone out on New Year's Eve, I would have actually worn it as a dress with some tights and heels. However, given that I was sporting jammies and a robe on NYE, I had to Plan B. I wasn't sure if this vest was in fact work-appropriate, but no one batted an eye when I wore it, so I guess that's a good sign! I'm sad to say it's now sold out online; it went quickly!

Normally I don't spend my whole posts talking about my outfit, but I do want to point out my two favorite accessories of late: this Winky Designs bag and this Jackie Jones necklace. I've told you guys about Winky before, but I'm telling you again because I love their goods, and they're all so reasonably priced! Jackie Jones is a friend of my mother-in-law's, and she designs these super cool necklaces (which unfortunately aren't sold online). This one is a hit-you-over-the-head statement piece, but we all know that's my favorite kind of jewelry.

I hope you're all doing well, and I'd love to hear your plans for the upcoming holiday weekend!

Haute Ashbury x Winky Designs

I'm so excited to introduce you Winky Designs, an awesome accessories company. Better yet, for the next week, we can offer our readers a 15% discount when you use the code "Autumn2015"! This is the perfect opportunity to get a jump start on your holiday shopping (and nearly everything on their site is under $50)!

I happened upon Winky Designs while shopping in downtown Las Vegas. They specialize in fashion watches and other accessories. I'm absolutely in love with their signature slap watches (they're the perfect update of the iconic 1980s slap bracelets). Not only are the faces clever and unique, but the interchangeable slap bands come in a wide array of colors. Their iconic slap watches make awesome gifts; they're perfect for teachers, travelers, cat or dog lovers, chefs, etc! I've posted a few of my favorites below, including a few shots of me wearing the iconic dog watch, but hop over to winkydesigns.com to check out their whole collection.

Another Winky favorite is their stackable dainty rings. I snatched up a handful of the rings when I was in Vegas, and despite their incredibly reasonable price, they're excellent quality. The designs are perfectly on trend, and they come in 18K gold, silver, and rose gold.

I'm totally in love with their envelope clutches, which are super sleek and super affordable!

The Best Maternity Dress (& A Night in Vegas)

Aaron and I took a trip to Vegas a couple weeks ago with the intent of lounging at the pool and eating fine Vegas cuisine. The weather was unbelievably uncooperative, so the only time we spent poolside was about 45 minutes, during a rather windy and not terribly warm afternoon, at which time I wrapped myself in a towel and immediately passed out (third trimester napping--it's the best!).

We did enjoy amazing meals and lovely kid-free time, courtesy of my wonderful mother, who flew in from CO to watch Sylvie while we were gone. We saw Michael Jackson: One (the Cirque du Soleil show) and watched the equally enjoyable new Avengers movie. We walked miles each day, which hopefully counteracted all of the aforementioned eating!

I found this dress at Nordstom Rack for under $30. Unfortunately, I can't find it online (it's WAYF brand), but I did link to some similar items, including one from Lulu's for $44! It's not a maternity dress, and it's just the proof in the pudding that you don't need to spend a fortune on maternity clothes when you're pregnant. Anything with a fair amount of stretch works well!

Also, please forgive the fact that I'm wearing the exact same necklace, shoes, and purse from my last post! I didn't think about that when I was packing for Vegas. Anyway it gave me an excuse to link to some more fabulous blue sandals below!

I hope you all had a nice weekend & thanks for all the love and support!
